Providing space on their land for rescued honey bee colonies.
Barwell Industrial Estate has kindly provided a wooded location for Tree Bee Rescue to home colonies of rescued honey bees.
The hives at the Barwell Apiary are periodically open to visitors, providing learning events, environmental awareness, as well as ongoing sustainability enhancements with the honey bees in their natural habitat.

We first met with the Barwell Industrial Estate team at the Kingston Business Expo. Ken Butcher, Assest Manager, Aviva Investors, said:
As part of our sustainability ambitions, we have been looking at bringing bees to the business park for some time. Half of the bee population has died out and with bees pollinating 70 of around 100 crop species that feed 90% of the world, they are a vital species. We are delighted to have been able to work with a local partner to support the bee population.
The hives at Barwell Apiary have been placed in a lovely area of the park alongside two bug hotels.
The bees have been rescued from various local areas, and include an extraction from a rooftop chimney and from a large tree trunk felled locally in Epsom.
We run a number of workshops at the Barwell Apiary. Contact us for upcoming dates.
Barwell Industrial Estate have been a joy to work with and their support is invaluable. Here is what they have to say:
Our staff recently had an enjoyable experience donning beekeeping protective gear and observing the bees up close in their hives. They also gained insights into the honey production process and beekeeping practices.
Some text in here from someone about either TBR at the garden centre, you saying how great it is to be at the garden centre, or we put a more general testimonial about TBR.
